Finished Death Note...
Feb. 17th, 2008 11:22 pmSo, I was taking a break from studying and I started reading book 11, thinking I would just stop when Matt showed up again. And of course when he finally does I'm all O.O! and can't put the thing down... *sighs* That's the short and relatively spoiler-free version, anyway.
Actually part of what I want to say today has more to do with doujinshi. Specifically, post-series doujinshi. ( cut for spoilers like whoa! And possibly even a few doujinshi spoilers )
I'm not going to be buying or reading Death Note #13. Why? Because I think it's a stupid waste of time. *has thumbed through it in the bookstore* It seems like it only tells you things you should have figured out on your own, provided you're not an idiot (why in the world are you reading Death Note if you're an idiot? Wouldn't Light's monolouges kill you ded?), or tell you "well, some people speculate this but we don't know so we'll just taunt you with the fact that we don't know either and have no interesting information!" Also, the main draw point seems to be that IT TELLS YOU L'S REAL NAME OMG!!!!!!1!one Which I personally don't want to know. I guess... I've always been under the impression that we are not meant to know. He's just cooler this way, isn't he?
One last thing, this isn't particularly spoilerific, at least: I really think it would make the funniest crack-fic ever if people worked with our current timeline, and made the recent Anonymous protest at the church of Scientology be a protest against the church of Kira. It would fit! The masks and everything, it fits perfectly! Also, I want to see Light's reaction to demands that he DO A BARREL ROLL! Or that what the church of Kira needs is MORE COWBELL!
