I really wanted more Vegeta vs. Zebra vs. Zoro because EPIC. But I was stuck trying to plot out a fight scene (especially since I'm so behind on OP and it's been so long since I watched DBZ. >.< I'm sorry guys! I don't know your move sets anymore!) So instead I ended up going to schmoopy-town because that is were I live, okay! :P Even grump-face Vegeta must visit eventually!

I don't even know what to say about real life right now. I guess should admit I'm going through a rough time, but every time I have a good day I want to go, "Nope, everything's fine now! Nothing's gonna go wrong again." Because fuck you, pattern recognition. I'm ignoring you.
It's nothing so dramatic, anyway. I've just been in a bad place in my head. I guess I just want to say something because I'm trying to get better. Like, the permanent kind of better, if that's possible. Because I've been coming and going from that place for half my life now, and that's more than enough.
But hey, fandom's also been with me almost that long! Ever since I discovered Ronin Warriors is the best thing ever and ohwow there's more of it on the internet! So it might be crazy, but I want my writing here to be part of the process. I want to start picking up the pieces I feel like I've dropped or broken here too. If that makes any sense.
I'm going to be trying to post the things that should have been finished but somehow never were. Chapters of the patiently waiting WIPs (trying for the first three sections on my WIP post, basically down to the "stalled" part of the list.). The prompts from December 2011. The 10_whores and 30_dogpile challenges (at least enough chapters to get my plot, dangit! After that it's just fluffy gravy). And a couple other things that should have been posted, yet never were.

Toriko fic: The Chef's Special 3/4
Feb. 28th, 2013 09:52 pmYet again, it took me way too long to figure out what I needed to tweak to make this work (I had the rough draft of this done first out of the four! Why did it take so long to polish?). I'm pretty happy with how it came out in the end.
Translation note: The drink from Sunny’s full course is called Charis Dragon Scale Shurui (a general word for an alcoholic beverage), which I chose to translate as “liquor” here. Because calling it “juice” is ridiculous. (As to why it’s being served in a sake decanter if it’s not technically sake? Because I thought that was the most beautiful option, of course.)

Just a very short fic series, I was posting one part a day but I decided to bring it all together into one entry. It's for a fic challenge so I have a pretty strict word limit (this is my own fault, since I decided to break a 2000 word max into 5 chapters, haha...) so I didn't get to play with the food as much as usual. But yeah... Komatsu had breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert with each of the four kings but is utterly oblivious to their ulterior motives! *pats him*
EDIT: Now all five chapters are consolidated in one entry. Yay!
I do still like this, though given infinite time I'd probably go back and expand the whole thing, especially the last scene. Well, maybe not Zebra's chapter. I'm especially happy with how that one turned out!

Waited a bit long

Now have all currently finished fic uploaded for: Big Wolf on Campus, Chrono Trigger, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kyo Kara Maoh, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Miracle Train, Princess Princess, Strike Witches, Toriko.
I keep adding to my list of rediscovered fics I need to finish. >.< From this set: An old Chrono Trigger fic about Slash's past (I could swear I had up to half of this written somewhere). I really should make a Toriko icon

For the first day: Toriko fic
Dec. 14th, 2010 11:55 pmOkay. Just a little stressed. Er... I suppose there should be a warning that we may have short fic this year since 1) I didn't start working on this on the 1st as I usually try to, and 2) Trying not to have a breakdown before Christmas. Writing fic helps. Stressing over writing fic... not so much. -_- And then nearly everything on my list was pulling on me more than this piece. Priorities, I lack them.
In my defense, I know sticking Toriko here is too easy. This is less because I couldn't get another idea for Toriko and more because I had no other ideas for these prompts this year. (At least I'm using prompts other than food so mer.)
Oh, and as to why I picked a primrose: one of the meanings is inconsistency, and the fact that I couldn't find a flower that was consistently assigned the meaning I wanted was ticking me off. Also alliteration amuses authors.

Toriko fic and Nano babble

I used to be intimidated by having the full blank page stretched out in front of me, and would scroll so that I always kept a couple paragraphs visible while writing. It doesn't bother me as much now, and I think that makes beginnings a lot easier for me.
When writing stories, I won't let myself start two consecutive paragraphs with the same word (though I've started 2-3 consecutive sentences with the same word for effect a few times and that doesn't bother me). I hate having consecutive paragraphs of the same length. (Dialogue manages to be the one exception to both of these rules.)
I actually kind of hate the NaNo pep talk emails. I can not bring myself to read them if I'm behind. And then they stare reproachfully at my failure.
This is the first Monday I've made my daily word quota! Though I technically wrote over half of the new words yesterday and didn't add up my word count until now. (I am now at about 29K, that's 4,000 ahead of my suggested word count. I'm ahead! I don't think this has ever happened to me before. *boggles*)
NaNo aside... I finally watched the Toriko OVA because I really needed a pick-me-up earlier. *squees and flails around* I loves it! The voice acting fits the characters so perfectly, and I especially love Komatsu's "Toriko-saaaaan!" <3 The animation is clean and pretty while matching the craziness of manga art style well, and the ending song cracked me up with glee. I wanna see Sani and Coco and Rin and Terry animated so bad now! *cry* Seriously. I am convinced Coco will have the sexiest voice ever and I wanna see Sani's hair animated so much that it's almost silly. ^^; *dance dance* Much joy. ^_____^
So to commemorate my joy, please to have fic.

Toriko fic involving aprons
May. 31st, 2010 01:23 amUgh... so last week I kind of cut out, yeah. Fail. (At least I got over my stated minimum of 2 fics.) As it's after midnight here, I am declaring it a new week already. New week, new theme. New theme: New series!
So this week the theme is posting fic for series that I've never posted fic for before. Um... I suppose it's a bit of a toss-up if it'll be anything anyone wants to read, but it's all stuff I wanted to write! So yes. See my happy upside-down Ikku icon of happy!
If I keep posting fic for this series (and I likely will), I'll need to get a food-related icon again. Anyway, I promised RK I'd post the fic she's been waiting for first. This fic is not set at any particular point in the series.
(Also, I can not seem to find a color picture of Komatsu's clothes. I kinda assumed his chef's uniform was white, but doujinshi covers do not seem to agree. RK? Do you know? Also, I want your input on my Sani dialouge. *pitiful pokes* Please?)
