Finally a new chapter! I also have some little chunks of the next few chapters written, so while I know I will jinx myself if I say I want to have the next chapter out by whenever, I can promise I'm still working on it.

So many thanks are needed for my wonderful beta, slr2moons, who not only took time to help me with editing this chapter, but once again had to tell me to stop fussing over it and post already! Thanks to her, these are coming out even quicker than they would be otherwise.

I'm awake! I'm awake! I have apparently lost a month somewhere. Curse you February! So... fic now?

Life right now is... ugh. Am getting through it. Searching for a new less-crappy job at the moment and trying not to let things drag me down into my mental ditch so I can keep writing.

Notes for this chapter? I spent rather too long trying to figure out if there is a specific name for the pointies on the attack ring. >.< And since I cannot find one I am totally calling them "pointies" from now on. As you may have guessed I don't have anyone I can actually talk shop with for the fandom, as it were.

Ugh. So my new computer may finally be giving up the ghost and dying on me, and after what it took just to keep it going for six months I am loath to sink any more money into the thing.

( grumbling about computers now... )

My writing is backed up, of course. I have priorities! My dad loaned me his external hard drive so most of my important stuff is actually backed up now. I can write on my old computer, but the old computer no longer does internet so posting is a bit of a problem. I think I'll have to write on the one computer then switch to the other to go online in 1- or 2-hour chunks. At least the writing is safe. (note to Tsuki-kun: you fic beta is saved in my writing folder, so that is safe as well. I will get that beta to you on time, and damn the computer problems!)

EDIT: After a little research, I am now making eyes at the Panasonic toughbooks. They are adorable and made to be dropped 6 feet! But they're $2,000-4,000. Yikes.

But in spite of everything, you still get fic! I'll probably separate this into two posts later. Oh, and this weekend I hope to start posting the first round of the prompt fics.

Current Mood: tired

Just watched Alien vs. Predator. Um... Perhaps unfortunately, I had a much easier time than usual keeping characters straight. (Then again, I could navigate by accents.) And then they all died, because... what did you expect? And I am kind of out of words right now. (Anyone have fic recommendations?)

Believe it or not, this is only about half of what I originally planned for chapter 8. *keels* I ended up having to split things into two parts. I've also been working on outlining later events. I had about half of this fic planned out when I started, but hopefully now that I have a better idea of where I'm going I won't stall out in the middle.

Bitbeast notes: I'm worried this is confusing, but in my head the beyblade is probably an "it" while the bitbeast would be "s/he". Since they have the same name I've been trying to be clear when the bitbeast is out or not. I hope that helps a little. (If I was smarter I would have varied the capitalization or something, but it's a little late now.)

And because I am bad at judging how obscure my vocabulary is at times: A 'stoop' is the high-speed dive and strike that many birds of prey use when hunting.

It's about time I got back on fic again, isn't it? The first half of the story I have planned is mostly written and should be about 15-17 chapters. (The second half... er... might take 1 chapter or another 15 at this point. We'll see.)

For those wondering about setting/timing of this fic: This is a tangential AU after episode 27 of season 2 (so if the Bladebreakers took a month off after their fight in Battle Tower). This will eventually have some spoilers up to that point. However, this first half is also more focused on the end of the first season, so a lot of season 2 characters are on the sidelines until I get to the second half.
(For those who are curious, the cake mentioned in this chapter is supposed to be medovnik, also called Russian Honey Cake.)

I liiiiive! *stumbles about like a zombie*

It's been a while since I posted things. *hides* I have a nice pile of half-finished fic. :P Such a spaz lately.... So while I'm working on the next few chapters of my Miracle Train project, here's something to tide you over. Beyblade fic! This one being rather more slashy than friendship fic. (While I still fully intend to finish Dirty Tricks and that fic is going to stay gen to the end, I've been hooked for the Kai+Max interaction since about episode 5. Slash-flavored fic was inevitable.)

This could be a stand-alone oneshot or a start of something longer. (If this gets long enough the title will mean something other than 'Star likes weird titles' but I can't promise this'll get that far. *laugh*) This doesn't have a specific place in the timeline at the moment, just that it takes place at some point after the Bladebreakers reunite in season 2 (either mid-season or after). There will be some references to stuff in late season 1.
