staricelingI went to see Despicable Me today. The movie itself was quite good and funnier than I expected. (Dreamworks movies always seem to come out love or hate for me.) I guess I should avoid spoilers here, so I'll just say I really want a squid gun! XD
I'm wondering now, at the end was the moon supposed to be larger or closer? I'm also pondering if/how Vector will get back. Will he get cut loose by his dad? Or rescued? I want to see him build something out of the salvaged parts of his escape pod to get back! And he shall be best enemies with Gru forever! *laughing*
Does anyone else think the bank guy looks like a slightly demonic version of Dilbert's boss? WTF with that hair!? The one thing I hated was Gru's mom, on several levels. Did she just want a girl or what? -_- Bah.
I can't decide if I'm being too optimistic or some kind of messed up, but I REALLY want Gru to raise the girls to be supervillains. I mean, think how awesome that would be? Who says they can't be a loving family and also take over the world? :D How awesome would that be! We've seen the family of superheros, now a family of villains! (<- Incredibles reference. A cross-over would also be sweet.)
Aside from the squee, I don't think I'm going to bother going to see movies in the theater anymore. The commercials they play before films really do piss me off that much. So fuck it. Not wasting money on that anymore.
If I may shift to Pixar, why are Cars and Monsters Inc. both getting sequels? O.o I'm not precisely complaining (I loved both movies), but both of those stories just seemed finished to me. Whereas from the first time I watched The Incredibles I have wanted to see what happened next. I mean, it's a world with superheros/superpowers/etc. where superheroism suddenly becomes illegal for 15 years. What happens to the supervillains? What happens to all the kids with powers growing up during that time period? What about the other moonlighting superheros? THERE IS A WORLD FULL OF POTENTIAL HERE AND I WANNA SEEEEE!
... More than that I'd like someone to share my insane ideas with, but no dice. *sigh*
I should have fic for y'all, but I'm out of editing mode and back in idea-spaz mode, so maybe next time...
